Money is a great tool but it’s a terrible master. When we wisely use what God entrusts to us, things seem to work well. When we hoard it or mismanage it, there always seems to be more month left once the paycheck is gone. So many of the financial binds we get ourselves into would be resolved if we simply trusted God with our money.

In Malachi 3, God helps us to understand his plan for our financial resources:

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

By inviting us to tithe (meaning to give 10% back to Him), God provides a very simple boundary for our lives. He keeps us from consuming ourselves and everything around us… And He promises to ensure we have more than enough to meet our needs.
